OTC Flow B.V. (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) is delighted to announce that it has fulfilled the requirements for obtaining the ISCC – International Sustainability and Carbon Certification – EU certification for the scope Trader (TR).
ISCC – International Sustainability and Carbon Certification – is an independent multi-stakeholder certification system that promotes sustainable, traceable, and deforestation-free supply chains. ISCC certification covers all kinds of biomass, biogenic waste and residues, non-biological renewable materials, and recycled carbon-based materials. Certified System users must comply with strict requirements regarding the traceability of the materials handled, ecological and social practices, and greenhouse gas emissions calculations. To date, the ISCC counts over 58,000 certificates issued to more than 10,625 system users (including Collection Points, Processing Units, and Traders).
The ISCC covers certifications for several markets, and among these, the ISCC EU guarantees compliance with the sustainability criteria laid down in Directive (EU) 2018/2001 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources (RED II). This directive specifically addresses the production of sustainable fuels, electricity, heating, and cooling from biomass for all countries of the European Union.
The ISCC EU (Scope Trader) license will allow OTC Flow to ensure the continuity of sustainable supply chains for the materials handled, which will be placed on the European market. This critical step emphasizes OTC Flow’s commitment to promoting the circular economy and driving a greener future.
